Changing Menu Labels in VirtualViewer

by | Apr 24, 2012

Snowbound Software’s VirtualViewer applet allows you to define menu labels. For example, you can change the name of the Export menu in the File menu to be the Save As menu.

To change the names of menus in the VirtualViewer applet, use the Custom Assets Properties file. First, start by creating the file in the same folder where your snowdemo.jar file resides on your application server. Create this file in a plain text format. Use the following applet parameter to point to this newly created file:

<param name=”customAssetsFile” value=””>

Now, you can enter some text into the file to change the name of the export menu item. The following text will change the name:

menu-file.export=Save to Desktop

For a list of all of the custom asset tags available in the VirtualViewer applet, see Appendix B: Custom Asset Tags in the VirtualViewer Java Client Administrator’s Guide.
