Open Text recently announced it is adding native iPhone and iPad applications to its Open Text Everywhere platform.Enterprise content management solution provider Open Text recently announced it is adding native iPhone and iPad applications to its Everywhere platform.

Also available on Research In Motion's BlackBerry, the company said Open Text Everywhere enables smartphone and tablet users to access its popular ECM Suite 2010 directly from their mobile devices, allowing them to manage enterprise content from virtually anywhere they have an internet connection.

"With Open Text Everywhere, we are putting the content and business applications on these [smartphones and tablets] that will absolutely change the way people work, and result in big gains in productivity across the board," said Open Text chief technology officer Eugene Roman.

Open Text said it will also add email management, a new social interface and Web Experience Management integration to its Everywhere offering in the coming months.

Once dominated by RIM's BlackBerry, the enterprise smartphone market is now beginning to see more diversity. According to a recent survey of 1,165 IT professionals by BoxTone, 73 percent of respondents indicated they plan to implement Apple's iPad, iPhone or other iOS devices during the next 12 months, Computerworld reports.
