Although SharePoint has seen massive growth in the business world, some in the industry say there is a lack of governance, but a new website hopes to put an end to that problem.
Today Corridor Consulting and Doculabs announced plans to create SharePointGovernance.org, a website which they say will be a place for IT professionals to exchange ideas about Microsoft SharePoint.
The site, which is slated to launch July 1, is planned to give Fortune 5000 companies a chance to let others know what has worked for them in relation to SharePoint governance, something Russell Stalters, the head of information and records architecture at BP America says is vital.
"Having robust and effective governance is critical for leveraging SharePoint as a common information infrastructure," he said. "The SharePointGovernance.org site will be the destination of choice for organizations looking for guidance, best practices, and lessons learned about implementing SharePoint and effective governance."
The two companies say they are now looking for "peers" to share experiences with SharePoint along with "gurus" who will review content posted on the site.
