In an effort to improve the management and security of documents in the Microsoft SharePoint platform, Titus Labs and Epok have formed a partnership merging their classification and security solutions.
The integration – which combines Epok Edition for SharePoint with Titus Lab”s SharePoint Classification and Security Solutions – will improve SharePoint”s classification services and allow companies to securely extend access to documents to both internal and external users.
Specific features contributed by Titus Labs include the ability to assign permissions and control access for SharePoint documents, define policy to watermark them, and automatically create PDF versions to facilitate sharing and archiving.
Epok Edition adds business agility and simplifies SharePoint extranet user administration, while still focusing on security and information compliance using a provisioning and authorization system for external users.
"The Titus Labs classification and security solutions for SharePoint allow customers to better control their sensitive content and securely share some of that information with trusted partners," said Charlie Pulfer, vice president product marketing for Titus Labs, adding that "the Epok extranet solution provides the visibility, control and reporting needed to securely add these partners to SharePoint deployments."
The need for solutions such as this one has been demonstrated by a recent survey from AIIM, which that companies are significantly more likely to have problems managing their electronic records than they are with paper records.
