Snowbound Software Nominated as a Finalist for the 2014 Stevie Awards

by | May 8, 2014

We’re excited to share the news that Snowbound Software has been selected as a finalist in the Support Team of the Year category for the 2014 American Business Awards (ABA Awards), also known as the Stevie Awards, which honor the achievements and positive contributions of organizations worldwide.

At Snowbound, we constantly strive to elevate our customer experience. Our Stevie Award submission detailed just one example of how our support team works hand-in-hand with our core development group to ensure that we provide expert support for each and every customer. In this particular case, we documented how we made it easier for customers to identify fonts needed for accurately rendering documents on the Java platform.

Several years ago, we noticed that customers moving to the platform from Windows were entering issues about their documents rendering with characters that were too large, too small or, in some case, missing entirely. To address this issue, we created our own resource guide with details to help customers identify the fonts needed for their proprietary AFP, Word and PDF documents. While our customers found the document useful a few were still experiencing issues so, last summer, we developed a Font Display to visually depict the fonts available to Java on our customers’ systems. This enabled them to quickly spot missing fonts, cutting days of the time it took to resolve the issue.

The more than 200 executives and industry leaders who judge the awards felt our nomination is noteworthy of finalist status, and may also be eligible for further recognition as a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner. We’ll know if we’ve made a final placement during the 2014 awards banquets on June 13th in Chicago but for now, we want to congratulate our support team on this fantastic recognition!

We’re looking forward to the winner announcements next month. Good luck to all of the finalists—we’ll see you in Chicago!
