It was announced this week the 2009 SharePoint.Org Conference will be held March 22-24 in Baltimore and that speakers including analyst Josh Bernoff have been scheduled to keynote.
This will be the second year of the event which will have a number of sessions on SharePoint ranging from beginners to advanced, and a forum that will discuss the issues facing SharePoint from websites to social communities.
Bernoff, vice president of Forrester Research, who has been quoted in media outlets like the Wall Street Journal and various television news programs, will give the conference”s keynote address.
"Securing John Bernoff for our keynote speaker is really exciting since one of the key areas we are seeing SharePoint move is into the social netoworking space," said conference organizer Brad Bogle.
The move of SharePoint to more social networking sites has been well documented this year.
Many companies began using Web 2.0 technologies in 2008 for their business needs including wikis, social networking sites and RSS feeds.
Gartner Inc., told SearchCIO-Midmarket.com that they expect enterprise social software to triple in the next five years – growing to $939.4 million by 2012.
