Open Text, SAP partnership expands reselling of ECM software

by | Feb 17, 2010

The continuation of the Open Text, SAP partnership has expanded to the reselling of ECM softwareAs the next step in a two decade partnership, enterprise content management (ECM) company Open Text announced this week that SAP would resell Open Text”s enterprise DAM solution.

With the agreement, the solution will be rebranded SAP Digital Asset Management application by Open Text and will include part of the Open Text ECM Suite.

James Latham, chief marketing officer at Open Text, said the new agreement will help the company provide solutions to companies that are increasingly developing web 2.0 content and help them reduce costs.

"The continued growth of fast-moving digital media and online content make DAM solutions imperative," he said. "We are excited to see the continued expansion in our relationship with SAP. This ability to reach, serve and integrate marketing assets with business processes will further accelerate the adoption of DAM among enterprise customers and media companies alike."

This might not be the only news coming from Open Text in the coming days. Earlier in the week, Bloomberg reported that the ECM company may spend as much as $500 million in acquiring new technology and is working with fellow Canadian-based firm Research in Motion – makers of Blackberry – in creating applications for mobile devices.ADNFCR-1861-ID-19622376-ADNFCR
