Open Text granted DoD certification

by | Jan 27, 2009

Open Text has received the U.S. Department of Defense 5015.2-STD-certification Earlier this month, enterprise content management (ECM) solution Open Text received records management certification from the Department of Defense (DoD) for several of its services including its Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) Services for SharePoint.

Open Text says its ability to meet the strict standards from the DoD prove its ability to maintain security.

"Now more than ever, it is imperative that organizations have a secure and trusted repository that delivers integrated records management for all business content whether it resides in dedicated ECM repositories, in Microsoft SharePoint or SAP solution-based environments," said Kirk Roberts of Open Text.

The DoD 5015.2-STD-certification is the mandatory requirement for use in the U.S. federal government, but it is also widely recognized in the private sector for companies looking to maintain secure systems.

Security is a top priority for ECM users with 49 percent of companies surveyed in a December report from Rohati fearing that inadequate security measures will result in unauthorized users gaining access to restricted information or applications.

Yet 79 percent of respondents said they only rely on basic authentication such as single sign-on and password.ADNFCR-1861-ID-18992809-ADNFCR
