On the same day as Microsoft released Office 2010, the newest version of its office productivity suite, Open Text assured its customers that the ECM system is entirely compatible with it. Companies that upgrade to Office have no latency issues to worry about or potential inability for files to transfer from Office to Open Text.
Ensuring that customers do not experience issues with Office is crucial for Open Text as about 94 percent of enterprises worldwide use Office as their chosen productivity suite, according to Gartner. The companies have worked together since 2005 to ensure that the programs work together without any issues.
"We help make that possible by allowing decision makers and information workers to work in their comfortable Microsoft environment while giving them access to all enterprise content from all sources including social networking, web and digital media," Brian Donaldson, vice president of Microsoft solutions and ecosystem at Open Text, said.
The companies” joint efforts extend to compliance as well. They recently announced that in developing new products, they consult each other to ensure that companies that use their products together will be able to comply with regulations from government organizations.
