New storage solutions EMC subsidiary ready to help SMBs

EMC subsidiary Iomega Corporation recently released a new storage solution to help small and medium-sized businesses share content and protect their data.

According to an EMC announcement, the Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage is available in several configurations to help SMBs establish collaboration capabilities and surveillance applications at remote offices and other locations.

The solution includes user replaceable hard drives to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities needs are met. According to EMC, the StorCenter offers the Iomega QuikProtect application to help PC and Mac users simplify their backup processes and the Personal Cloud so users can easily share and access data from anywhere.

“Affordable network storage for small businesses, distributed enterprises and others that effectively balances of ease-of-use in data management with advanced capabilities such as cloud computing, virtual desktop deployments and video surveillance is the hallmark of the new StorCenter ix2,” said Iomega president Jonathan Huberman.

Iomega remains a critical part of EMC’s solutions moving forward. In November, the parent company announced that the subsidiary had its line of StorCenter PX series products had received the distinction of being VMware Ready to offer SMBs and enterprises with a virtual infrastructure.
