Developers announced Thursday the release of iNetDocs, a new application that links the KnowledgeTree enterprise content management solution with SugarCRM.
The new integration tool is the product of document management provider KnowledgeTree, open sources customer relationship management developer SugarCRM and European enterprise content management provider iNet Process. The tool will allow users to search, browse and retrieve documents in the KnowledgeTree repository from within SugarCRM.
"iNetDocs turns SugarCRM into a complete workspace for the busy CRM professional. It is now possible to conduct most of the day”s work without ever leaving the SugarCRM application," said iNet Process manager Lionel Fernandes.
The software developers said the tool will let SugarCRM users incorporate sales, marketing and other documents from the KnowledgeTree repository with the assurance that they are accessing the most recent documents available.
In offering this new combination of content management and customer relations management tools, the software developers may be hoping that the cost benefits of paperless content management will catch on with the sales and customer relations market. A study by technology research firm Gartner found that enterprise content management software can both speed up business processes and reduce costs compared to traditional paper systems
