Software developers Microsoft and SAP recently announced they have partnered to release a joint product aimed at integrating Microsoft SharePoint with SAP solutions.
According to the companies, the recently launched Duet Enterprise enables end users to improve collaboration and productivity by providing easier access to business data and processes through both Microsoft's and SAP's products.
Michael Reh, general manager and senior vice president of SAP's information worker solutions, said Duet Enterprise enhances the capabilities of SAP applications in work environments that also utilize SharePoint.
"This provides users with streamlined productivity and better decision-making," Reh said. "The software delivers a layer of interoperability that allows customers and partners to focus on creating solutions that drive business growth while helping ensure that all technical integration aspects work reliably together."
The companies also announced the launch of a new joint program called SAP-Microsoft Unite Partner.
The ability to collaborate internally through software applications can greatly enhance a business' performance. According to a recent survey conduct by CMSWire, 32 percent of respondents said collaboration tools and practices would be a top priority in 2011.
