Enterprise content management solutions provider KnowledgeTree recently launched upgrades to its cloud-based product designed to help inter-office collaboration from small- and medium-sized businesses.
According to KnowledgeTree, the new features address document and workflow management across companies.
One of the key features added to the product is KnowledgeTree for Office, which enables users to search, access and work on KnowledgeTree-hosted content directly from Microsoft Office productivity applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
KnowledgeTree has also rolled out new subscription packages to make it easier for SMBs to access and pay for its services. Subscriptions now start at $35 a month. However, the cheapest package excludes a number of features, including document alerts and access control.
The ECM provider has also removed restrictions pertaining to the number of users able to access the software, allowing for further collaboration between employees.
According to CMSWire, SMBs are going to be a major area of interest for ECM providers next year. Already occupied by such companies as KnowledgeTree, Box.net and SpringCM, CMSWire predicts bigger businesses, such as Microsoft and Google, will make a more concentrated push for the SMB market.
