KnowledgeLake recently announced it has developed a new consumer website using Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The company reports that it chose SharePoint because it blends detail ECM capabilities with web design elements required to create and manage modern websites.
The company believes that certain elements of SharePoint will allow it to save money while operating a better website. With fewer resources required to ensure that the website functions without any latency, KnowledgeLake will save money on energy costs and man hours required to manage the website.
"KnowledgeLake has truly embraced the SharePoint ECM platform," said Tricia Bush, director for SharePoint product management at Microsoft. "Traditionally, KnowledgeLake has developed innovative products that expand the enterprise content management features already in SharePoint 2010. So with SharePoint 2010, KnowledgeLake has taken that to the next level to develop its website."
Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari recently told the Seattle Times that using SharePoint to design its new consumer website has allowed it to interact more with its customers and improve its global brand visibility. The Times also found that Starbucks leveraged SharePoint to design applications used to train new employees.
