IBM announced this week that it has enhanced its enterprise content management (ECM) offerings, adding new features to its FileNet software and introducing bundles and starter packs aimed at lower price points.
Enhancements to the ECM software portfolio include a new content-centric business process management (BPM) bundle, a consolidation of five products. The FileNet BPM bundle will offer IBM FileNet Process Monitor, Business Process Framework, Connector for Microsoft Visio and eForms, as well as the addition of Cognos Now!, a real-time monitoring application.
IBM has also added new features to its FileNet Content Manager, enhancing its document handling capabilities and installation and upgrade processes. The new version includes full-text search, high volume batch loading capability, and BPM integration.
The company also announced the availability of ECM starter packs, which target lower price points for users who need smaller or departmental deployments. The starter pack will offer IBM Content Manager, FileNet Content Manager, FileNet Business Process Manager, and Content Collector Discovery Analytics.
The rapidly growing ECM market may have helped IBM weather the recession, as the company recently announced that its net income increased 12 percent in the second quarter, reaching $3.1 billion.
