As it becomes necessary to access content on a number of different platforms, the popularity of delivering it through XML-based enterprise content management systems is growing.
Last week it was announced that Mark Logic, a company that provides XML technologies, would be teaming with DPCI to deliver XML-based enterprise content management through several projects like one it has worked on with Amazon”s Kindle reading device.
It is expected that as companies continue to use a number of devices, the need for XML-based ECM will grow.
"As publishers continue en masse to embrace the web to deliver more dynamic and engaging user experiences with their content, XML-based standards offer flexible solutions for maximizing content reuse and delivery," said John Kreisa, director of industry solutions for Mark Logic Corporation.
The technology will be implementing the MarkLogic Server which the companies say will allow businesses to stay ahead of their competition.
It is expected that enterprise content management will continue to expand in the near future, with many in the industry predicting that more ECM will take place in the cloud.
