Group chat is now offered for users of SharePoint.Formicary Intelligent Collaboration Group, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, recently announced it is adding a new option to SharePoint Server 2010.

The new product, Formicary WebChat for Microsoft SharePoint brings real-time collaboration to help strengthen the community element. The collaboration will place multi-party discussions of Persistent Group Chat into the companies’ portal.

The hope is that utilizing both Persistent Group Chat and SharePoint will show users the value of using SharePoint in the business environment

“Microsoft is excited to be working with Formicary to make it even easier for organizations to bring the benefits of Microsoft Lync 2010’s Persistent Group Chat into the wider business,” said B.J. Haberkorn, Lync group product manager at Microsoft. “Embedding Group Chat into SharePoint will bring greater value to both offerings and creates more scope for collaborative working across the business.”
