Enterprise content management solutions are being used throughout a number of industries.

Enterprise content management solutions are being used throughout a number of industries. The healthcare field, for example, is leveraging ECM to improve overall patient care. Healthcare IT News recently published a whitepaper detailing how the Christ Hospital, which is a Ohio-based nonprofit, has experienced a number of advantages since launching its ECM platform.

The report said Christ Hospital has processed 15,000 more invoices from the previous year since deploying its ECM application. Average email and scanning time has been reduced by four minutes per hour for every clerk.

ECM has also helped the hospital lower its operating costs by $72,000 a year, as well as improve approval time frames from five to seven days to only two, the report added

As more organizations across a number of industries turn to ECM technology to improve their operations, the demand for the platform is expected to rise. Market analysis firm the Radicati Group recently produced an industry forecast for ECM solutions and found that revenue is projected to grow from $4.4 billion in 2012 to more than $7.5 billion by 2016.
