Business services provider EMC recently announced that production equipment developer and manufacturer AeroSpace selected its VNXe unified storage and VMware vSphere virtualization solutions to improve its manufacturing process.
According to an EMC statement, the solutions will improve AeroSpace’s system efficiency and performance, as well as reduce operating costs by establishing a 100 percent private cloud infrastructure.
Also, AeroSpace expects to receive a return on its investment within one year, according to the release. EMC announced the private cloud infrastructure has helped the company reduce its test environments from weeks to one minute, while its storage and server administration has decreased by 80 percent.
“Our performance on VNXe is twice as fast as our older systems,” said AeroSpace director Erich Becker. “The VNXe has provided 2x faster access to our Exchange environment for example. I can easily move data around, the architecture is designed to be highly available, and with VNXe there’s always a backup. We simply don’t have any downtime.”
EMC’s VNXe solutions have not only helped organizations improve efficiency, but the platform has received industry praise. According to a recent announcement, the unified storage system received CRN’s 2011 Tech Innovator Award, which is given to technology that helps address current issues.
