Microsoft SharePoint is considered one of the most popular enterprise content management solutions available, and some ECM vendors are considered to be more innovative than others when it comes to working with the platform. EMC, for example, recently announced that it was named the Microsoft Search Partner of the Year for its work with SharePoint and other technology.
The vendor explained that it was given this distinction because it has helped businesses search legacy content management solutions and SharePoint environments to access disparate data sources.
EMC vice president Dave Cox explained that the company’s customers have benefited from their investments in both Microsoft and EMC technology.
“We can help customers quickly deploy comprehensive search solutions that enable them to accelerate deployments, improve their customers’ experience and make it easier for employees to find the information they need to be more productive,” Cox said.
In addition to helping businesses leverage the benefits of ECM solutions, EMC has also aided local governments in their efforts to take advantage of such technology. The vendor recently announced that the city of Sacramento has reduced its operations, storage and processes costs by more than $500,000 annually by adopting the Documentum xCP platform.
