Although enterprise content management company EMC dominates the market with its Documentum solution, some have questioned its web content management capabilities. But with its partnership with FatWire earlier this month, that issue may have been addressed.
Last week EMC announced it would be joining forces with the New York-based FatWire to help increase its web content management solutions.
Paul O”Brien, vice president and general manager of the information access product group in the content management and archiving division at EMC, said his company”s partnership with Fat Wire will help it give customers more options in a world that is increasing looking for web experience management tools.
"The web experience management market is compelling to EMC and our strategic partnership with FatWire is a testament to our focus and ongoing commitment in this space," he said. "The addition of FatWire”s market-leading web experience management technology and domain expertise provides tremendous value to our customers allowing us to extend our reach in this rapidly expanding market."
In a column for ZDNet, Stephen Powers said the move to web content management is becoming more important and that EMC”s Documentum could not live up to expectations in the changing marketplace.
