EMC makes InformationWeek 500 list once again

by | Sep 12, 2012

EMC has made a name for itself in the enterprise content management industry, as well as other areas like virtualization and cloud computing. The IT vendor recently announced that its innovation across multiple landscapes has earned it a place on the InformationWeek 500 list for the fifth consecutive year.

Sanjay Mirchandani, EMC’s CIO, said the company has addressed a number of technologies that have impacted the IT industry, including virtualizing environments and moving operations to the cloud.

InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston noted that the publication has recognized the most innovative technology companies for the past 24 years.

“What the editors looked for are unconventional approaches – new technologies, new models, new ways of grabbing business opportunities and solving complex business problems with IT,” Preston said.

EMC has received other industry praise for its technology solutions. Earlier this year the vendor announced that market research firm IDC named it the No. 1 storage provider in its Storage Users Demand Study. IDC polled more than 1,000 firms in 15 countries and EMC was named the leader in this field.
