Global business and service provider EMC recently announced that its network-attached storage solution Isilon is helping organizations across several industries address their high performance computing needs.
“Organizations across a range of industries are turning to Isilon to help them manage and access their most mission-critical data for timely and accurate analysis, leading to new discoveries, faster product development and better business decision-making,” said EMC.
According to EMC, Columbia University’s Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics uses Isilon to achieve its research storage needs and keep pace with rapidly evolving technology demands.
The publicly traded Chinese petroleum company PetroChina uses Isilon to consolidate its applications into one file system and increase its oil and gas discovery time, according to the provider. EMC added that geospatial solutions provider Sanborn has increased its imaging performance by 500 percent since deploying Isilon.
Media and entertainment company Corus Entertainment has also benefited from adopting Isilon. EMC recently announced the Canadian company deployed the solution in only 48 hours and has increased its file access from 15 to 200 simultaneous access points, simplified its content processing and reduced its distribution time.
