Company develops SharePoint framework for smartphones

Smartphones like the iPhone will now be able to see SharePointAn increasing number of companies are using enterprise content management (ECM) solutions in the workplace, but as more and more people use their mobile devices to work, one company is bringing SharePoint to their smartphone.

Virginia-based H3 Solutions announced that it was bring its Mobile Entrée to smartphone platforms including Windows Mobile, Blackberry and iPhone which will allow users to achieve web-based access and deploy SharePoint.

Mike Herres, president and CEO of H3 Solutions said the decision to develop a technology to allow users to access SharePoint on their smartphone was an easy one given the statistics.

"It was very apparent to us that the widespread deployment of SharePoint and the enormous growth in people using smartphones represented a significant industry convergence," he said. "When we researched the market, we were unable to find any technology that enabled the development community to efficiently build applications for mobile SharePoint users."

The company says its Mobile Entrée product is available starting today and notes that the platform should be easy to deploy and manage.ADNFCR-1861-ID-19204131-ADNFCR
