Burntsand, a tech consulting company based in Toronto, recently announced that it has signed a $400,000 contract to deploy enterprise content management solutions for a major biotechnology company in the United States.
Burntsand did not reveal the name of the biotech company.
The consultants will help create a corporate intranet portal that is SharePoint-based. The Microsoft platform will be used to integrate the internal line-of-business system, to enhance the company portal with web 2.0 programming and to enable access to enterprise applications from the portal.
Burntsand CEO Martin L. Glover says that his company was chosen because it is a consulting leader for clients with complex ECM needs.
"We were selected based upon our deep expertise and experience in SharePoint and our understanding of the biotechnology industry," says Glover.
Burntsand was also recently an ECM consulting partner for the Los Angeles county Children”s Medical Services.
In that instance, the consulting team helped the L.A. healthcare system put in place a Documentum-based automated case management system to help caregivers transform medical documents into digital content. Representatives for Children”s Medical Services say the ECM system saves an enormous amount of time and helps the healthcare system easily share medical information with clients and their families.
