Cloud content management (CCM) provider Box.net recently announced two new features that will "reinvent" how its 3.5 million users view and share content on the Box.net platform.
The first feature is an integrated content viewer that provides instant, full-viewing capabilities online for a broad range of files inside the Box environment. The second feature, yet to be released, allows users to share and embed all types of files anywhere on the web, it said.
The content is trackable, giving IT departments unprecedented visibility into how content moves within an organization and beyond, the company added.
These new capabilities are a result of Box.net”s recent acquisition of Increo Solutions, it said.
Box.net said it provides solutions for more than 50,000 businesses, ranging from SMBs to Fortune 100 companies.
According to Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box.net, the CCM will allow for seamless content delivery experience of the web.
"It excites me because I”ve never been one of those people that thinks of content that is consumed once and then has no further value," said Phil Wainewright on the ebiz blog."Cloud content management… can significantly extend the life cycle and value of content by keeping it relevant."
