AvePoint releases automated ECM transfer from Documentum to SharePoint 2010

by | Mar 22, 2010

A new ECM transfer tool has been made available by AvePoint to help users of Documentum-based ECM switch to the new SharePoint 2010.AvePoint, which provides support for enterprise content management systems, has created a new tool to help businesses and organizations make a transition from eRoom- and Documentum-based content management to the new SharePoint 2010 software suite that will soon be released.

The company says DocAve Migrator can help create seamless, fully-mapped migration from Documentum and eRoom document management software to SharePoint 2010. The latest version of SharePoint will be released on May 12, 2010.

AvePoint CEO Tianyi Jiang says that the new automated transfer system will allow enterprises to take full advantage of the new Microsoft release without worrying about their need for continuity of data.

"SharePoint 2010 is poised to transform how companies manage their people, processes, and information," says Jiang. "We wanted to remove any barriers that might have prevented organizations from taking advantage of SharePoint”s singular functionality, including the barrier posed by a complex, manual migration. With DocAve Migrator, we have made the transition from EMC technologies to the Microsoft stack much more automated, more secure, and pain-free."

New users of SharePoint may also take advantage of another tool released by a collaborator of Microsoft. IRIS recently unveiled a new software solution for scanning, exporting and indexing large batches of documents to a SharePoint-based ECM system.ADNFCR-1861-ID-19682932-ADNFCR
