by | Mar 23, 2009

Accelrys'' Pipeline Pilot Enterprise Server will support Microsoft SharePointWith more and more businesses adopting Microsoft SharePoint to help fit their enterprise content management needs the number of industries integrating the ECM solution grows. Now a scientific business intelligence software and services company says its scientific applications will support the ECM solution.

Accelrys Inc. has announced that its Pipeline Pilot Enterprise Server is now integrated with SharePoint Server.

Frank Brown, chief science officer for Accelrys says that as more pharmaceutical and chemical companies begin using SharePoint, it has become necessary to create a solution to fill the void.

"Our embedded solution will fill the gap for SharePoint Server users in the scientific community by providing customers with the means to access and use large amounts of scientific data to gain insight and make informed decisions in the areas of discovery and development," said Brown.

It appears that many in the enterprise are moving towards SharePoint for their enterprise content management and file conversion needs.

According to a recent column for NetworkWorld, Susan Hanley says the downturn in the economy may be a good time for companies to make investments in SharePoint as a way to further cut costs.ADNFCR-1861-ID-19088244-ADNFCR
